Jack woke up very chatty today. Charlie has been blabbing away for about a month now but Jack has been fairly quiet recently, although he "talked" first. Dr. Herron, our pediatrician, says that twins often take turns going through chatty periods and that it is totally normal for one or the other or both to blab non-stop for a while then get quiet then blab again. Jack has definitely started to blab again and spent much of the day calling for momma or baba or wawa. It's really funny because Charlie's favorite word is dahdah or hida followed by blah blah blah. They seem to be carrying on entire conversations with each other consisting almost entirely of these 6 words.
They've gotten really interested in each other and spend lots of time pulling one another's hair, stealing binkies, and playing with each others' toes. They also seem to be getting a little bit jealous. Today we were playing on the floor. Both boys were sitting up with different toys to play with. Charlie fell backwards and hit his head on the exersaucer. He cried a little so of course I held him and rocked him for a minute. Jack erupted into tears. He would not be consoled until Charlie was able to sit in the floor again and I held him in my lap.
Over the weekend they went on their first wagon ride to the neighbors' house. They love it (despite Charlie's face in the picture). Jack spends most of the ride trying to touch Charlie, Charlie spends most of the ride trying to stick his fingers through the holes in the floor. The only challenge is trying to get Charlie to bend his legs and sit on the seat when you are putting them in, these days he wants to stand up all the time but he can't balance on his own yet.

Great pictures! I can't figure out why they are jabbering. Their daddy never has been much of a talker, right?
