Recent Developments

The boys are growing so fast. We went to the doctor last Tuesday for their "15 month" check-up (even though they are now 16 months). Both are growing and developing well. Jack weighs 26lbs 14 oz and is 31.5 inches. Charlie weighs 26lbs 1.5oz and is 32.75 inches. It was finally cold enough that day for them to wear their sweaters and boy did they look handsome.

They are talking more and more now. Currently favorites are ball, yeah and no-no. Jack is working on learning uht-oh but so far will just say uht. I'm fairly certain they have their own language too.
On Saturday Jack had a small run in with a tree and got his first band-aid worthy boo-boo. I'm going to have to get some "little boy" band-aids. He did take the opportunity to start walking though. So far he is pretty secretive about it but hopefully we'll be able to get it on film in the next couple of days and post it for all to see.

A constant companion

The boys are really starting to relate to each other. They frequently tackle or pen one another. Peek-a-boo is a constant game these days between them. It is really cute to see them play together and usually results in lots of giggles from both of them. (Only occasionally do they bite.) They look for each other any time they are separated now even for a few minutes. Jack has even tried to say something that I think is supposed to be brother a couple of times. A week or so ago we tried coloring one afternoon. Charlie ate about half of the green crayon (thank goodness for non-toxics) and Jack just wanted to throw the crayons around. We probably won't color again for a couple of months.

Merry Christmas

The boys had a wonderful Christmas. We have been "Christmasing" since last Saturday evening. They got almost everything on their list and have been very busy trying out all of their choices. Papaw Phil got them some dump trucks that weren't really made to be ride-on toys but they both climbed right in and love to be gently dumped out.

They also got "retro" tricycles from Mimi. They are not quite big enough to reach the pedals yet but they like to be pushed around on them.

Other favorites are an ark from Granmomma and Granpapa, a farm from mom and dad, and a bouncy horse from Grandaddy and Gramma. They also discovered lasagna at Christmas dinner.

Giggle box turned over

Jack thinks my mom is really funny. We took this video Friday during dinner. Charlie was laughing pretty hard at the end too but Jack was so tickled you can barely hear Charlie.

Ridiculous weather

Yesterday's high was 75. The boys wore shorts and t-shirts and played outside in their sandbox. They also spent a little time in their new favorite - the laundry basket. In this picture Charlie was practicing his fake sneeze while Jack did his signature nose scrunch.

The Crud

We have had the crud since the day before Thanksgiving. Needless to say, I am way behind in preparing for the holidays. It doesn't help that the high today is supposed to be 76. The boys were pretty puny but they are finally feeling better. They have really taken to the laundry basket and saying no-no-no. Jack also says dog, which is really cute. He says daohhhhhhh guh. About half the time he leaves off the guh entirely as if it was just way too much work.

Squeaky Clean

Although it may look like we've started bathing the boys in the washer (and sometimes I don't think it would be such a bad idea), that's not true. Chip was changing clothes over and just had no other place to set Charlie. When my mom saw him she set Jack in as well and wallah, cute pictures.
